Video: James Milner & Jordan Henderson show class with gesture to Chelsea stars after Carabao Cup final

Footage of the classy actions of Liverpool pair Jordan Henderson and James Milner on the back of the club’s Carabao Cup triumph has come to the fore on Sunday evening.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were of course back in action a short time ago.

Amid a stellar stretch of recent form on both the domestic and European fronts, the Reds made the trip to Wembley, eyeing a first piece of silverware of the campaign in a League Cup finale showdown with Chelsea.

And, when all was said and done, the scintillating stretch being enjoyed by Klopp and co. only continued, en route to glory in the English capital.

After a pulsating 120 minutes of action filled with chances galore failed to produce a telling winner, proceedings were sent to a penalty shootout.

From here, a remarkable scene ensued, as the two sides combined for a perfect record of twenty for twenty from 12 yards, before Liverpool shot-stopper Caoimhin Kelleher too held his nerve to lash home the Merseysiders’ 11th.

Counterpart Kepa Arrizabalaga, however, saw his attempts to do likewise go horribly wrong, as the Spaniard, introduced off the bench specifically owing to his abilities in shootout situations, blazed his own effort several yards over the crossbar:

Liverpool’s players, staff and fans alike, in turn, erupted into delirious celebrations across Wembley, after adding to their silverware cabinet once more under the watch of Jurgen Klopp.

As alluded to above, though, two of the more senior members of the Reds’ ranks were quick to remember that, over on the Chelsea side of things, a squad of fellow stars had just been left crestfallen.

The players in question, in the form of Jordan Henderson and James Milner, therefore waited for each member of Thomas Tuchel’s squad to return from receiving their runners-up medals, to offer their personal commiserations.
