Viewers of the showdown between Chelsea and Liverpool this evening have taken to social media in numbers, to lavish praise on two players.
The first piece of major silverware of the English calendar is of course currently being contested over at Wembley.
After ousting Arsenal and Tottenham in their respective last-4 ties, Liverpool and Chelsea have gone toe-to-toe in the capital, in the finale of the Carabao Cup.
As things stand on Sunday evening, the scoreline remains locked at 0-0, albeit not for a lack of trying on the part of both sides.
Chelsea, in particular, have gone close on a whole host of occasions, with the likes of Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount guilty of fluffing their lines from wonderful positions:

And such glaring opportunities in front of goal on the part of both sides have come owing to the creative exploits of two players in particular.
On the Liverpool half of things has been Luis Diaz, who has continued to settle into Jurgen Klopp’s ranks in impressive fashion courtesy of an electric display on the left flank;
Luis Diaz. What a signing.

Luis Diaz is an absolute baller. The former Porto man is causing Chelsea all sorts of trouble at the moment and Liverpool are suffocating the Blues.
This is Klopp’s gegenpressing at its finest.

On the Chelsea side, meanwhile, the creator in chief comes in the form of Kai Havertz, who, would have bagged at least two assists to this point in proceedings had it not been for the wastefulness of his fellow Blues attackers:
Kai Havertz has created 4 chances already and we are only in the first half world class shift

Havertz best player on the pitch.
Should win it if the rest of them fix up
Hope this helps https://t.co/M8FD0QX5OE

Probably Havertz’s best half in a Chelsea shirt, shame the others can’t help him out.
