Reports that Manchester United have made an official bid for Barcelona winger, Ousmane Dembele, have since been quashed.
Journalist Pedro Almeida claimed that Manchester United have offered Barcelona €20m for Dembele:

A fraction of the reported £126m Barcelona paid Borussia Dortmund back in 2017, but Dembele is now in the final six months of his current deal.
However, reports elsewhere has since suggested that no official bid has in fact been made.
As per Fabrizio Romano, there has been no official bid and no talks opened by Manchester United for Ousmane Dembele, with it added that United have not submitted any proposal to sign him as things stand.

Though it seems unlikely they are trying to right now, should Manchester United actually want to sign Dembele?
He has been late to meetings before key games, whilst his attitude has also been questioned on various occasions during his time in Catalonia.
And, most recently, he was a no-show when he was expected to turn up to Barcelona’s training base earlier this month with the rest of the squad.
Dembele’s horrendous injury record is also well documented at this point.
So, with his contract up in June, the question must be asked, who would actually want to sign Dembele and pay him a likely massive wage even if they can get him on a free?
There is obvious talent there, but it is now very much hidden beneath the injury-prone shell of a player who appears lazy whilst having a problem following rules.
Also, as far as Manchester United go, it is worth pointing out that they spent big money over the summer to sign Jadon Sancho, a player who is often used on the right -wing.
And given Manchester United clearly need to strengthen other areas of their squad like central midfield and at centre-forward, should they be wasting money on Dembele?
