Fresh footage of a Chelsea penalty shout during the club’s meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday has caused quite the stir amongst the Blues faithful this evening.
Thomas Tuchel’s men were of course back in action just shy of 24 hours ago.
Amid a concerning spell of recent form, which had seen them slip a full six points off the pace of Premier League table-toppers Manchester City, the Pensioners welcomed the aforementioned Brighton to Stamford Bridge, eyeing a 2nd successive victory.
When all was said and done, however, Chelsea, once again, came up short.
As proceedings rolled into time added on in west London, it did appear as though Romelu Lukaku’s first-half header was set to prove enough to guide the hosts to all three points on Wednesday.
Just when the points looked firmly wrapped up, however, Brighton struck at the death, as Danny Welbeck’s last-gasp header secured a share of the spoils for a game Seagulls outfit:

In turn, on the back of just another underwhelming performance in what is quickly becoming something of a crisis at Chelsea, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to hear of the club’s supporters making their frustrations known.
A whole host of the Pensioners’ stars were singled out for heavy criticism on Wednesday night, amid suggestions that the 8-point gap now open to Manchester City will likely prove insurmountable over the 2nd half of the campaign.
Some sections of the Chelsea fanbase, however, have been less keen to take aim at Tuchel’s troops, and more eager to highlight what they feel marked major injustices over the course of the 90 minutes against Brighton.
The first came in the form of a penalty appeal on the part of Christian Pulisic, who saw his protests waved away despite seemingly being felled in the visitors’ area.
And the other, which has piqued widespread attentions on Thursday, is showcased below:
I saw Mason Mount react at the time and wondered what he was responding to…turns out he had a very good view of a blatant handball. Also makes Hudson-Odoi’s pass not as bad as it looked. https://t.co/UdvFHnL3W0

The incident in question saw Callum Hudson-Odoi’s attempted delivery across the box to the unmarked Mason Mount blocked to at least some degree by a hand.
Though it appears that the ball may have come off the Brighton’s star’s body first, droves of Chelsea supporters remain of the opinion that a spot-kick, which could have proven the difference in a solitary point becoming three, should have been awarded:
That is a clear goal scoring opportunity stopped by a hand clear hand ball
