Aston Villa are set to face off with Brentford this coming Sunday.
Villa head into the game on a pretty patchy run of form having won two and drawn three of their last five league ties.
However, they are facing a Brentford side who are in even worse form at present, with the Bees having notched just one victory from their last five.
Ahead of the Brentford game, Steven Gerrard spoke to the press on Friday.
When doing so, the Villa boss confirmed that both Leon Bailley and Marvelous Nakamba are out of the tie, whilst Ashley Young has an outside chance of featuring:
“Leon Bailey will still be missing, and Marvelous Nakamba. Ashley Young has got an outside chance, he has a little fracture in his toe, but he is pushing to be available. Other than that, we should have the whole group available, dependent on Covid testing.”

Tyrone Mings is also out of the game due to suspension:
Gerrard on Tyrone Mings’ suspension: “Whoever is picked to replace Tyrone, whether it’s Kortney or Axel, they have to make sure that we don’t miss him.

Elsewhere, Gerrard was quizzed on Aston Villa’s January transfer window:
“We’ll only make signings if we feel they are the right signings for the team and the club. “We have identified certain individuals we would like to bring in and we are actively looking to improve.”
