New Manchester United manager Ralph Rangnick will not be in the dugout until the Red Devils take on Crystal Palace at the earliest, yet his influence is already being felt.

With an easy run of fixtures to come (on paper) where Manchester United play just three of the teams in the top half between now and the end of January, there is every chance that the man dubbed the “godfather of gegenpressing” will be able to right the ship that lost it’s last captain following a 4-1 defeat to Watford.
While they currently sit marooned in mid-table, it would be one of the biggest shocks of the season should they not be in and around the top 4 come the season’s end, and January could help in that regard.
Now, a Rangnick pupil could be set to follow him to Old Trafford in the form of Amadou Haidara, currently plying his trade with RB Leipzig, for whom the now United boss signed him in 2018.
The midfielder would add some much needed bite to the Red Devils in the middle of the park, while also being well versed in the demands Rangnick would make of him. With a 33 million pound release clause, could he be making his way to Manchester?
If it is his choice, it certainly seems so. Speaking in 2019, Haidara revealed:
“My dream club is Manchester United,”
“I will fight with all my strength to one day play for that club.”
The Mali man, now 23, may have no better chance to jump ship, while he will certainly show some much needed passion in the Manchester United side should he achieve his dream move.
