A week on from Manchester United being humiliated in their own back yard by Liverpool, they dished out the same treatment to Tottenham at the London Stadium.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford ensured that the game was put to be bed before the final whistle, with boos accompanying the under-fire spurs boss and players at both half and full-time.

The choice of substitutions, in particular, drew ire from an angry home crowd, with the withdrawal of Lucas Moura for Steven Bergwijn a case in point.

Even famous hip-hop artist AJ Tracey couldn’t help but get involved in the pile on.

The result means that Tottenham have won five and lost five of their opening 10 Premier League games, and have won just two in their last seven following a great start to the season, seeing them slip to eighth place in the Premier League.

Reports that Nuno faces talks over his future with sack looming

Now, as per the reliable Matt Law of The Telegraph, AJ Tracey and co. may have got their wish. Law reports that Nuno “could be sacked” after the 3-0 defeat “prompted talks within spurs over Nuno’s future”.

Should he depart, it remains to be seen just who Spurs could entice to take the job after their long and publicised failure to find a new manager in the summer, leading them to eventually settle on the former Wolves man. However, given the toxicity around the club, anyone else may be in a better position to handle the role.
