Paul Pogba reveals reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning opener vs Tottenham

 

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this evening took to social media, to reveal his reaction to the efforts of teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, during the club’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs downed

United returned to Premier League action earlier today, making the trip to north London for a Premier League clash.

The Red Devils headed into proceedings aware that nothing but a positive result would suffice, on the back of a solitary point secured from an available twelve across the club’s last four outings.

When all was said and done at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, though, the visitors, to their credit, bounced back in a major way.

A dominant display ultimately culminated in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men emerging on the right side of a 3-0 scoreline.

Cristiano Ronaldo proved the undoubted star of the show, opening the scoring and teeing up Edinson Cavani’s 2nd, before Marcus Rashford added some gloss to the scoreline off the bench late on:

In turn, on the back of the action coming to a close in the English capital, despite a host of Manchester United’s stars having impressed throughout the 90 minutes, it is talisman Ronaldo who has once again stolen the headlines.

Amid a tense opening half, a moment of sheer brilliance on the part of the Portuguese broke the deadlock, as Ronaldo latched onto Bruno Fernandes’ ball over the top to direct a stunning volley into the far corner:

And, as outlined above, one individual who was evidently impressed by the latest goalscoring endeavours of the 36-year-old was teammate Paul Pogba.

Frenchman Pogba played no part in this evening’s action, sitting out the first of a 3-game ban owing to a red card picked up versus Liverpool last time out.

But the midfielder kept a close eye on proceedings from home, and could not help but reveal his stunned reaction to Ronaldo’s volleyed opener on social media:
