Tata Altroz EV – What can we expect from it now?

The electric vehicle market is still in its early stages in India. A lot of manufacturers have planned electric vehicles, but only a few have launched them. Tata is one of such manufactures. Recently they unveiled the Tigor EV in India. With this launch now, Tata has two EVs in the Indian market, the Nexon and Tigor. Considering Tata’s push for converting their ICE-powered cars into EVs. We expect Tata to bring the ALtroz EV soon. Tata had showcased it at the Auto Expo 2020. In today’s article will look at the Tata Altroz EV expectations.

Upcoming affordable electric vehicles under Rs 50 lakhs

Design

The Altroz EV will be based on the regular Altroz. Tata will give it subtle changes like a blue coloured grill with EV badging and blue highlights on the bumpers and fog lamps. The alloys will also get blue accents. The EV will get the Signature Teal Blue colour which we see on the Tigor EV as well. On the interior front, the cabin is similar to the normal Altroz, with some hints of EV blue colour.

Performance & battery pack

Like the Tigor and Nexon EVs, we expect Altroz to also get the Ziptron motor technology. As with all EVs, it will get an automatic gearbox. The battery pack will be a 26kWh Lithium-ion unit with IP 67 water and dust-proofing standards.
