Two clubs chase Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves on deadline day

Ruben Neves attracts interest

Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has been attracting attention all summer from fellow Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. However, with 12 hours left to go in the transfer window, he currently remains at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

That may change before the window slams shut, however, with Manchester United retaining an interest in the player as they look to potentially strengthen their midifeld.

However, they could be gazumped by a fellow Premier League side, in the form of Arsenal’s arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites have allegedly opened talks with Wolves for the midfielder.

The rumoured fee for the player is around 40 million euros, which would seem a relatively affordable deal given that Dan James is set to depart Old Trafford for around 28 million pounds.

Have Wolves already got their replacement lined up?

Meanwhile, Wolves could already have their replacement for the former Porto captain in the form of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches. Sanches has returned strongly from a poor previous Premier League spell with Swansea to prove a vital cog in the midfield of Ligue 1 champions Lille.

With the French club in financial crisis, however, they could be open to a loan move for the midfielder, which could allow Wolves to strengthen their squad for a minimal fee.

Will it allow Neves to move on?
