Real Madrid bounce back from Mbappe disappointment with deal for Eduardo Camavinga

La Liga giants Real Madrid have, on Monday evening, struck a deal with Stade Rennais for the signing of midfield sensation Eduardo Camavinga.

PSG stand firm

The headline news surrounding ongoings at the Bernabeu in the lead-up to the transfer deadline has of course been Real’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.

Despite the French international having just a year to run on his contract with PSG, it is understood that Los Blancos late last week tabled a mammoth offer worth €170 million, plus a further 10 million in bonuses, for his signature.

Remarkably, however, the board at the Parc des Princes opted to knock the proposal back.

In turn, word was forthcoming this evening that Florentino Perez and co. had come to the decision to pull the plug on their summer swoop for Mbappe, to instead focus their attentions on finding a pre-contract agreement with the 22-year-old in January.

Camavinga incoming

Such news, unsurprisingly, had culminated in an air of disappointment at the Bernabeu, with the Real faithful having no doubt been buzzing with anticipation ahead of the potential arrival of one of world football’s finest young players.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Monday evening is anything to go by, however, then supporters of Los Blancos need not fret.

This comes with the capital heavyweights, remarkably, now on the verge of landing another of the continent’s hottest prospects.

The player in question? Eduardo Camavinga.

As per a whole host of reliable sources, Real are inching ever closer to closing a deal with Stade Rennais, to bring Camavinga to the club ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

The 18-year-old, long viewed as one of Europe’s finest up-and-coming midfielders, is a long-time target of the Spanish outfit, with an agreement worth a fee in the region of €30 million now imminent.

Like Mbappe, Camavinga’s deal in France is due to expire next summer, hence the reduced financial figures involved.
