With just two days left in the window, Arsenal are still in desperate need of a right-back. Gunners fans were quick to point out the inability of current options Cedric and Callum Chambers in their heavy defeat to Manchester City, while Bellerin is thought to want to depart the club.

It is reported that Mikel Arteta is searching for a new right-back before the deadline, with Ainsley Maitland Niles in talks to depart the club.

Tottenham “close” to agreeing fee for Emerson Royal

One of the most favoured options amongst the fanbase was Barcelona defender Emerson Royal, and it was thought that there was interest from the club too. However, reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano today reported that the Gunners’ bitter north London rivals Tottenham were “close to reach [sic] an agreement for Emerson”, for a fee of around 30 million euros.

This comes just a day after Spurs were linked with a move to fellow long-term Arsenal target Yves Bissouma.
