All the details from Arsenal’s deadline day right back swap

Arsenal’s deadline day swap

With less than 12 hours left to go in the window, Arsenal have finally sprung into life to address their issues at right back. As of yesterday, the club could boast four right backs; Callum Chambers, Cedric Soares, Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

However, Bellerin is now set to depart the club in the coming hours, with a deal agreed to take the player to Real Betis. On the incomings front, the Gunners have agreed a deal to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu, the 22 year old Bologna fullback.

Bellerin to Betis

Details emerged from Bellerin’s potential move to Real Betis from the reliable journalist David Ornstein.

As per Ornstein, the deal will be a loan deal, with no option or obligation to buy on the part of the Spanish side. However, Bellerin will be taking a pay cut, as Willian did, in order to make the move away from the Gunners possible.

The lack of any potential sale at the end of the loan will come as a frustration to Arsenal fans, but the loan offers Bellerin a chance to rediscover some form, and to re-assert his value in order to fetch Arsenal more money next season.

Tomiyasu to join Arsenal

Meanwhile, Arsenal are set to replace Bellerin with Bologna’s 22-year-old full back Takehiro Tomiyasu. The deal, first mooted this morning, is thought to have been completed now, with details emerging that it may set the Gunners back 16 million pounds plus extra bonuses.

As per reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the add-ons are thought to amount to 3 million euros (2.5 million pounds), taking a potential deal to 18.5 million pounds.

Will he prove the answer to Arsenal’s right back woes?
