Ainsley Maitland-Niles dropped from the Arsenal first team after Instagram spat

Maitland-Niles wants out

It has become pretty clear over the past 24 hours that versatile Arsenal player Ainsley Maitland-Niles wants out of the club. News broke of a potential move to Everton being in the pipeline, only for the Gunners hierarchy to reject the possible loan move.

After touting his services all summer long, Arsenal seemingly rejected the only bid to come in for him as they wanted him to stay.

This, in turn, led to the 24-year-old taking to Instagram to vent his frustrations, even going as far as to tag the club in his plea for gametime.

Maitland Niles set to be demoted

In a further shocking turn of events, Maitland-Niles is now set to be demoted from the Arsenal first team, as per John Cross of the Mirror.

It is the latest step in a baffling and worryingly public turn of events at Arsenal, who are still hoping to do business both in and out on deadline day. However, it seems unlikely that Maitland-Niles will be getting his wishes to either play or leave the club anytime soon.
