West Ham United star Aaron Cresswell has, on Saturday, hinted that the club’s fans will soon be treated to some long-awaited summer signings.
The transfer window, to this point, has of course proven an altogether quiet one at the London Stadium.
On the departures front, the Irons’ board have sanctioned budget exits for both defender Fabian Balbuena and out of favour attacker Felipe Anderson.
When it comes to incomings, though, West Ham have thus far managed only to make Craig Dawson’s arrival a permanent one, and bring in backup for shot-stopper Lukasz Fabianski – in the form of Alphonse Areola.

Such shortcomings have led to understandable concern on the part of the West Ham faithful, ahead of something of a make or break season for the club.
This comes with the capital outfit aiming to establish themselves amongst the Premier League’s elite, having defied the odds en route to a spot in the Europa League last time out.
As outlined above, though, if the latest comments on the part of one of the club’s star performers in 2020/21 are anything to go by, then West Ham’s supporters, as of yet, need not fret.
Speaking on the back of the Hammers’ pre-season meeting with Premier League newcomers Brentford this evening, Aaron Cresswell was drawn on the possibility of fresh faces adding to David Moyes’ options for the campaign ahead.
And the stopper, before hailing the performance of those to have taken to the pitch this afternoon, suggested that ‘a few players’ will likely make their way to the London Stadium before the close of the window:
“I’m sure there’ll be a few players coming in, but the players out there today put a good shift in.”
