Will this very talented teenager light up the European Championships for England?
Since the start of last season, Mason Greenwood has established himself as a regular in Manchester United’s team, despite still being a teenager.
In this time, he’s made 103 appearances for his boyhood club, scoring 31 goals and providing a further ten assists.
This includes starting the 2021 UEFA Europa League Final, but Greenwood is still yet to lift silverware after losing to Villarreal on penalties in Gdańsk.
What sets Greenwood apart is how ambidextrous he is.
He’s scored 20 Manchester United goals with his left foot, eight with his right and one with his head.
This may suggest a left-sided bias but the only senior penalty he’s ever taken, at Tranmere, was with his right, emphasising his two-footedness.
Thus, Greenwood can play both as a central-striker or on the right-flank; his versatility has surely helped him earn a spot in Gareth Southgate’s squad.
Greenwood has only made one England appearance so far, coming on as a late sub against Iceland in the UEFA Nations League, but that’ll surely rise at the European Championships.
