Jude Bellingham

Age 17. DOB: 29 June 2003.

Teams: England & Borussia Dortmund

Position: Central midfielder.

No 17-year-old has ever scored at a European Championships.

If Jude Bellingham is to change that, he’s going to have to net in the group stages as his 18th birthday coincides with the knockout phase of the Euros.

In fact, if England win Group D, they’ll be playing the runners-up of Group F that very day.

Bellingham has enjoyed an astronomical rise to the top and international recognition.

In August 2019, he made history with his boyhood club Birmingham City, becoming their youngest ever player when he made his debut aged 16 years and 38 days.

He went onto make 44 appearances and impressed so much that they retired his number 22 shirt number, controversially.

After just one season in England’s second-tier, he became the most expensive 17 year old of all time, joining Borussia Dortmund for around £25 million.

Despite having only been at Westfalenstadion for a season, the German giants will feel it’s money well spent.

Bellingham appeared in 46 of Dortmund’s 51 games this season, only missing two when he was available; suspended for the other three.

He helped BVB to a top four finish and a DFB-Pokal triumph, starting the 4-1 final victory over RB Leipzig.

At international level, he made his senior debut in November 2020 in a friendly against the Republic of Ireland before playing 45 minutes against San Marino in March.

In the latter, he shone on his competitive international debut.

England have been looking for a dominant central-midfielder for a number of years now.

They might finally have one in this teenager from Stourbridge.
