Ferran Torres

Age 21. DOB: 29 February 2000

Teams: Spain & Manchester City

Position: Winger/ centre-forward.

Having shown his quality in flashes this season, will Ferran Torres shine for Spain this summer?

Having joined Valencia as a six year old, Torres moved to Manchester City for a cut-price €23 million last summer as part of los Che’s fire-sale.

He’s since struggled to nail down a regular starting spot but, in 36 appearances, managed 13 goals, four of which came in the Champions League group stages.

Torres ended the season with a spectacular hat-trick away to Newcastle United, becoming just the second player born on 29 February to net a Premier League treble.

For Spain, he’s been far more prolific, netting six times in just ten caps.

This includes another hat-trick, coming in a 6-0 Nations League demolition of Germany in November 2020.

He’s since added goals against Georgia and Kosovo in World Cup Qualification.

Luis Enrique’s la Roja squad lacks any real superstars so can Torres rise to the occasion and make this team his own?
