Tottenham prepared to fight to keep Harry Kane at the club

Fight for Harry

Respected football journalist Fabrizio Romano has discussed the future of Harry Kane at Spurs on the Here We Go podcast.

The future of the England and Tottenham captain has been in the press recently, and he has been linked to both Manchester clubs, especially following the announcement that Sergio Aguero is to leave Manchester City at the end of the season.

However, Romano believes that Tottenham are convinced they can keep the player and they are prepared to keep him. He says on the podcast that;

“Negotiating with Daniel Levy for a top player won’t be so easy. Tottenham will fight to keep him”

He also says they are planning to talk to Kane and Son Heung-min about their contracts and very much want both players to remain.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger offered his views on the future of Harry Kane, speaking on beIn Tv. He said of the situation;

“Tottenham are in a position where they can be ambitious and we should maybe not judge only today’s situation. Tottenham was top of the league in December. There were a few times when they were top of the league when I was still at Arsenal.”

“He is the only one who can assess the situation. A player like that is always solicited by other clubs and always has to assess his situation. He was until now a real top leader at Tottenham.”

“He’s a top leader in the English national team. I respect highly his commitment and his quality. What I like today is he could play basically as a No.10 because the quality of his assists and the speed of his vision, and the execution of his speed on long balls is exceptional.”

We will have to see if Tottenham are able to keep the player who is likely to be in demand in the summer and could be seen as a cheaper alternative to Erling Haaland.
