The headline news in the footballing world this week has of course been the announcement that Sergio Aguero will depart Manchester City when his contract expires in the summer:

The Argentine will no doubt go down as one of both Manchester City and the Premier League’s greatest-ever players.
Aguero has netted 181 times in the Premier League, making him the PL’s 4th highest top-scorer and the highest scoring non-Englishman on that list. The forward is currently just six goals shy of Andy Cole, so could perhaps still overtake him this campaign.
Aguero is also in possession of the best minutes-per-goal ratio of any player who has scored at least 50 goals in the Premier League:
๐ Players with the best minutes per goal ratio in Premier League history (min. 50 goals):

Following the announcement of Aguero’s impending departure, much speculation has surrounded his future.
The 32-year-old has had his fitness issues in recent times, but would still no doubt be a decent addition to many a side, especially on a free.
And reports stemming from France have claimed that Manchester City’s bitter rivals, Manchester United, are trying to land the hitman on a free.
However, the highly reliable Fabrizio Romano has since refuted those rumours, branding them as ‘100 per cent fake’:
Sergio Agรผero updates. ๐ฆ๐ท #Kun
Barcelona have opened talks and are considering him as ‘option’ [Depay is on the list too]. Also PSG asked info about salary requests.
Juventus and Chelsea have different priorities, as of today.
