Former AFTV favourite Claude Callegari has passed away as Arsenal lead tributes

Claude Callegari, 58

Former AFTV pundit Claude Callegari has passed away at the age of 58. Claude, who died yesterday afternoon, was a regular on the popular YouTube channel before leaving last year.

The announcement was released across Claude’s social media platforms which was run by him and a number of others who worked on his own YouTube channel.

The full announcement read:

“We can’t believe we are writing this, with permission from Claude’s father, it is with great sadness and a broken heart that we announce that our dear friend and legend Claude sadly passed away yesterday afternoon 29th March. We ask that you please respect the the privacy of Claude, his family and friends and be respectful at this extremely sad time. 

“RIP dear friend, gone but never be forgotten. Gooner for Life. Terry and Diesel.”

Arsenal replied to the post offering their condolences to those who were closest to him and that his passion for the club will be missed.

AFTV also posted a statement on his passing.

The thread continued with a statement which read:

“Claude was a much loved figure during his time on the channel and through his passion for Arsenal was able to connect with fans from around the globe on a meaningful level.”

“We had continued to privately support Claude during his time away from the channel during the pandemic and the news of his passing comes as a deep shock to everyone at AFTV and in the wider Arsenal community. “

“We will not be publishing any content on our platform over the next few days whilst we come to terms with the news of his passing.”

Condolences

His untimely passing has seen social media flooded with Arsenal fans, former players and AFTV colleagues sharing their messages of condolence.
